Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday said if elected for second term his swearing in will be held in Visakhapatnam.

Reiterating his decision to make Visakhapatnam the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh, he told a gathering of 2,000 representatives from the trade and commerce at Radisson Blu on preparation 'Vision for Vizag,' he said he is the only person committed to make the City of Destiny the seat of power.

He said "the entire Opposition is trying to develop North Andhra by establishing the executive capital here. I wish to declare here that my oath taking will be made in this city if our party is given the required mandate to govern another five years in the upcoming elections."

The TDP, the principle Opposition, the BJP and other parties have declared their resolve to make Amaravati the single capital of Andhra Pradesh. Several farmers from Amaravati, who surrendered about 35,000 acres of fertile land in Krishna Delta under Land Pooling Scheme during Chandrababu Naidu's regime post-bifurcation, have challenged the decision on trifurcation of capital. The YSRCP Government took a decision for three capitals under the plea of decentralised development. The case is pending for hearing in the Supreme Court in April.
